High Schools Students Experience A Day In the Life Of An HSN Partner
Junior Achievement Job Shadow Day
For 13 years, HSN has partnered with Junior Achievement Tampa Bay to invite local Tampa Bay area high school students to our campus as part of the Junior Achievement Groundhog Job Shadow Day. Junior Achievement Tampa Bay is a volunteer-driven, non-profit organization that empowers the futures of local students by giving them the knowledge and skills they need to manage money, plan for their future, and make smart, academic, career and economic choices.
Last week, 7 students received the full experience of what it is like to be an HSN “partner” and to “sell on-air.” Students went through hair and makeup, selected a product to work with and spent time practicing and learning how to sell their product “on-air”. At the end, a winner was selected who best sold the product, and themselves! In addition, 20 high school students got to tour the HSN facility!
“Junior Achievement is honored to partner with HSN Cares for JA Job shadow Day which gets high school students out of the classroom to get a behind the scenes look at what happens in the “world of work,” said Kym McGee, Regional Director Junior Achievement of Tampa Bay. “This was a fabulous opportunity for the students and they were very excited to be a part of this wonderful program.”
As the philanthropic arm of HSN, HSN Cares is dedicated to empowering women and helping families in times of need. Together, with trusted organizations and volunteers, we are able to make a difference with hope, love and support.
