Major Milestones for HSN Cares and Habitat for Humanity Partnership
HSN Cares has partnered with Habitat for Humanity since 2011 to help women and families in need of affordable housing. Working together—and with the generous support of our customers—we are helping to make a difference in so many lives by empowering women through one of the bedrocks of the American Dream: homeownership.
We couldn’t be prouder of the major milestones our partnership with Habitat for Humanity reached this year, including the following:
- Throughout the month of May, HSN Cares donated $1 from every At Home item sold during HSN’s At Home shows to the global nonprofit housing organization. We also encouraged our customers to add an additional donation to Habitat for Humanity as part of their purchase.
- Altogether, we raised more than $250,000 for Habitat for Humanity in May, helping the organization further their mission of helping families build the strength, stability, and self-reliance they need to create better lives and brighter futures for themselves and their families (and communities).
- HSN Cares and Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas County also completed our 10th local home build with Michele Doyle! The formal dedication will take place on June 16 in St. Petersburg, FL. Michele is a hardworking single mother who cares for her 17-year-old son, Keibran, and her 2-year-old grandson, Jayceon.
When Michele is not instilling her values of hard work and positivity in her children she works in the healthcare field helping to change lives through medical care. Looking for a better way of life, Michele applied to the Habitat Pinellas homeowner program. Upon acceptance into the program, Michele finally felt a sense of relief from all the stress and anxiety her living situation has caused. “When I found out that I was accepted into the Habitat program, my heart was filled with gratefulness, joy, peace, and I felt the love of God as I always do telling me it was my turn now.”
Thank you to everyone who helped make May such a successful month for our ongoing charitable partnership with Habitat for Humanity. To date, we have donated nearly $2 million to Habitat for Humanity International to help women build better lives for themselves, their families, and their communities—thanks in large part to the support and participation of HSN team members, families, and of course our generous customers!
