HSN Team Members Become Master Makeup Artists

We’re nearing the end of HSN’s 41st Birthday month – but the team member festivities are still in full swing.

In conjunction with their recent visit to HSN, the Too Faced team offered ten randomly selected employees the opportunity to take part in a private make-up class, taught by two of their Pro Artists, Tracy Hamilton and Jazmine Escoto. These ten lucky ladies started with fresh faces and learned how to perfect their look with the brand’s best-sellers. During the class, team members learned the dos and don’ts of applying everything from foundation and primer to eyes and lips.

Tracy even shared tips to maintain a fresh face while beating the summer heat as well as the proper eye brush placement when applying eyeshadow.

Summer Make- Up Tips:

1. Sunscreen (or a skincare product containing sunscreen), should be applied last as part of your regimen. If you’re using a moisturizer and a primer prior to applying foundation, you should apply the sunscreen after your moisturizer (prior to your foundation). Always remember to keep the layer of sunscreen closest to the sun.
2. Eye shadow primer is essential in the summer heat—it will help prevent eye shadow creasing as your skin sweats. A thin coat of Shadow Insurance will help keep your eye shadow in place. Then, set primer with a bone shade from lash line to brow bone, to help neutralize the lid.
3. If an application of primer and foundation is too heavy for your summer activities, consider mixing a small amount of primer and foundation to create a tinted moisturizer that will provide lighter coverage.

Eye Brush Placement Tips:

1. Place blending brush into the crease depositing the color at the outer corner of the eye, lightly blending to the center of the eye.
2. Depositing shadow on the outer corner of the eye helps with keeping the shadow even and keeping the eye look soft and not harsh.
3. Hold your blending brush from the tail end of the handle giving you a lighter hand and creating a softer blend.
