HSN APPOINTS MERCHANDISING VETERAN NANCY CAPLAN SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, SOFT HOME

Ste. Petersburg, Florida, July 1, 2008 – HSN, the interactive lifestyle network and retail destination, has appointed longtime merchandising executive Nancy Caplan, Senior Vice President of its Soft Home division, which includes home décor and design, entertaining, and lifestyle products, among other merchandise.

In making the announcement, Lynne Ronon, Executive Vice President, Merchandising for HSN, said, “Nancy is a superlative merchant who is expert at forging relationships with designers, developing product, and driving the bottom line….a winning combination. The expansion of our Home Lifestyle business is a priority for HSN and I have no doubt Nancy’s talents will be a tremendous asset as we move forward.”

Ms. Caplan was most recently Vice President and General Merchandising Manager for Macy*s, where in the course of the past year, she managed their Bridge & Designer Sportswear operations, significantly adding to their designer partnerships and building the customer base. Prior to that, she’d spent 11 years at Marshall Field’s, most recently as Vice President and General Merchandising Manager. During her tenure at Marshall Field’s, among her many achievements Ms. Caplan was responsible for bringing in exclusive product, partnerships and distribution deals across the Better Career and Casual Sportswear, and Bridge & Designer departments, all of which drove sales and improved margins.

From 1992-1996, Ms Caplan was Vice President and Divisional Merchandising Manager, Product Development at Saks Fifth Avenue where, among many other accomplishments, she built several key private labels for Saks, including Real Clothes, The Works, and Saks Fifth Avenue Cashmere and Collection. Prior to this, Ms Caplan was a Divisional Merchandise Manager at Marshall Field’s from 1986 to 1992 and began her career at Hudsons in 1974 where she steadily advanced to the role of Buyer, before her departure.
